Book now! Drama club and workshops for primary school children

Harrogate Theatre’s Education Department have been successfully running after-school drama clubs for the past 3 years to give primary school children the opportunity to work with our skilled drama practitioners and perform in our intimate Studio Theatre. This Spring we’d like your school to experience the fun of the weekly workshop and the excitement of performing in our Studio Theatre.

Our emphasis in these clubs is on the process rather than the end product. We want young people to have had the opportunity to explore their imagination, have tried new ways of creating characters and stories and have been challenged to show what they have been working on to a supportive, invited audience. Most of all we want the pupils to have fun and enjoy live performance.

Harrogate Theatre believe that by working with us over a term and bringing the performance into the Studio Theatre with full technical support we are exposing young people to a high quality drama experience which will build confidence and encourage them to take up drama opportunities both in and out of school and to visit the theatre more often.

In the past pupils have performed plays based upon Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, Dr Seuss’ The Sneetches, The Golden Goose and The Tempest among others.
